Founder & Owner Scott Miller was born and raised in Hertford, NC, a very rural two stop light town with a population of just over 2,000. Most of his early years were either in the woods hunting or in salt water. Scott started working in fabrication shops at age 17. Always fascinated with design and the many processes of turning raw material into a finished product, Scott received an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Drafting at College of the Albemarle and a BS in Industrial Technology from East Carolina University.
Prior to starting FMF, Scott held positions as a draftsman, CAD Designer, Project Manager, and Warranty Engineer. Sitting behind a desk just wasn’t what Scott was looking to do, so he tried something completely different and accepted an outside sales job with an industrial equipment company in Fairhope Alabama. Scott and his wife Amanda had relocated and were enjoying their time in Alabama when the company was purchased by a larger company and Scott was asked to relocate to Kentucky.
Scott and Amanda decided they’d rather stay in Alabama near the gulf coast’s blue waters so with very limited funds, he did what any responsible red blooded American would do and started his own business. Fluid Motion was created in June 2013. One month later, Scott and Amanda found out she was pregnant with their son John. Life is really awesome like that sometimes.
